Africa Journal of Engineering for Impact (AFJEI) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal established in 2026. It exists to give a durable home to work in which engineering knowledge is used to improve infrastructure, industry, public services, and livelihoods.
Too much good African engineering remains in theses, consultancy reports, and conference slides that never become citable literature. Too many global papers treat African sites as a brief case study after a method developed elsewhere. AFJEI reverses that habit. The continent is the primary context, not an afterthought. Authors from any country are welcome when the method, dataset, prototype, or finding is relevant to African operating conditions or can be transferred to them.
